Early this year I continued to experiment with building solid and hollowing out and also with the series "Chaos in one's mind can feel so heavy, (could you lift it off like some onerous crown?) The first piece (on the right) completed this year is the fourth in that series. She is called "bon repos," which means "good rest." and when she was completed, I wondered if she was misnamed because she didn't look rested at all...but she came to completion in really stressful times, so... maybe she better reflects those...She is shown here with the first in that series, "weight of the world."
Then came a 5th gal, with a removable crown...
Another project I'm working on is the story jars...and also moving on to new gals...and a guy?
Midway through the year, I still prefer coil building. Still working on the story jars...sometimes using lines from favorite poems...cited, of course :). And also, adding the "thought pots"...Part of the larger project "Words and Clay."

...her dress seems more like Edna's waves...maybe that was heavy on my mind at this time. And even her onerous crown...to me looked like ice cream in a cone...but her name conjures up more than that...could mean many things...and she is Icy...

She is also part of the Chaos series...I keep thinking I'm done with that series, but some things seem to never end...but at least she's the last in that series for 2021 and at least she's having "a moment of clarity..." high fire white clay, cone 6 oxidation firing, with underglazes pre-bisque and then celedon glazes
