'painting the clay' . . .
or sometimes I think of it as "painting one's sorrows," because looking back at the scultures of women (mostly), some have had rather melancholy titles, . . . So recently when Bog and I decided to dabble in watercolor painting, after watching a lot of videos and thinking about what I would like to paint, well, a good place to start as I practice technique is with my own work.
Many of these sculptures have sold or been given away; some I still have...but I must say these, (whether it be clay creating or painting), have been some delightful, amusing, and frustrating ways to spend time. I have mostly worked with photos of these pieces and then tried to embelish in some way...
The original sculptures tend to be whimsical, and in attempting to paint them --they become even more whimsical.
