The sculptures begin with slab bottoms and are then built up with coils.Tools used: sculpting/trimming stick, a metal rib and a few sculpting tools. 

They are all hollow. However, I am now also experimenting with building solid and then hollowing out.

 

I use slips and sometimes underglazes pre-bisque, with glazes used in some places, and other parts raw clay.

 

Most pieces here are fired to Cone 9/10, with a few fired to Cone 6. Clay bodies are often buff stoneware with ochre, buff stoneware, high fire white, or firestone.

 

Inspirations come from literature and culture...
