Functional Ceramics

Most of my functional pieces are thrown on the potter's wheel, but often altered in some way. A handle on a bowl, making a bowl a bit ovoid, thumb-printing or taking a dart in a mug, or pushing lines in a jar with a stick, I like to  think of "bending" the clay. I like to be reminded that at some point it was all liquid, flexible, bendy soft stuff...that I shaped with my hands.

I like to make jars, all sorts, lidded or not--filled with flowers or food, experimenting with glazes...
